My Story

see url I graduated from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, then moved to New York City and received a Masters in Graphic Design from Pratt Institute. After working for a few years as a freelance designer I got a license to teach art in the New York City public schools. Now I work for Studio in a School as an artist in residence in public schools. I started making comics in 2006 after deciding to teach a comics workshop at my daughter’s school. For years I had collected true stories of strange events that had occurred in my life, or in the lives of people around me. Strange True Tales is a series of books that celebrate the extraordinary lives of ordinary people. Each of these stories are based on real-life events.  Jewish is the name of a new series I’m working on, based on research of old Jewish jokes and fables.
